Every result recorded for this team
Straight from the scoring form. Nothing is ever overwritten — results that don't make the counting set stay on the record, they just don't add to the team score.
How points work
Every event is scored the same way, whether it's a bracket, a footrace or a bowling night. You are ranked against the other companies in your division, and where you finish is what earns points. Those points add up across the whole competition — the company with the most at the end wins its division.
Top eight in an event scores. Finish ninth or later and you still bank the 10 points for taking part.
Everyone who shows up scores
Complete an event and your team banks 10 points for taking part, whether you place or not. There is no such thing as competing for nothing.
Main Events are worth double
A Main Event doubles everything — the placement points and the 10 for entering. Winning one is 200 + 20 instead of 100 + 10.
Counts = how many results add up
Counts is how many results add up to make your team's score in an event.
Say the 5K counts 4 for your division and you send ten runners. Your four fastest times are added together — that total is your team score. The other six are recorded and change nothing. Sending more people can never hurt you.
You do need four finishers to be placed. With three you still bank your 10 points for taking part, you just can't be ranked — otherwise a team adding three times would beat a team adding four every single time.
Counts is set per division
Five people is a much bigger ask of a 40-person company than a 2,000-person one, so each division has its own number. You only ever need to know your own.
Wins tells you which way is better
High means a bigger number wins — bowling pins, trivia points, field goals. Low means a smaller one does — 5K and 40 Yard Dash times.
Turnout events measure share, not size
Turnout is the percentage of your company that took part — people who finished, divided by the local headcount you declared at registration, up to 1,000. A 60-person company that brings 30 people beats a 900-person company that brings 40.
Employees only. Family and friends are welcome to walk with you — they just don't count toward your turnout score.

What each event counts, which direction wins, and what's on the table.
There is no minimum number of people you must enter. Bring who you can. More people gives you more results to take your best from, which is the only advantage a bigger turnout buys you.
Connecting this to your form
This page is a read-only view of a Google Sheet. The form stays exactly where it is — the board just reads what the form writes.
Three steps
- Publish the responses sheet. Open the form's responses spreadsheet, then File › Share › Publish to web. Choose the responses tab, choose Comma-separated values (.csv), and publish. Copy the URL it gives you.
- Paste it into this file. Near the top of the script block there's a
CITIESobject. Put the URL inresponsesCsvUrlfor the city you're setting up. - Paste in the headcounts. Each city has a
rosterblock —"Company name": 500, one line each. These are the declared local headcounts collected at registration, not how many people registered for events. Fill it in once when registration closes and leave it alone. Company names must match the form's Company dropdown exactly.
Only if the numbers must change mid-event do you need a published roster tab instead: put its URL inrosterCsvUrl, with columnsCompany,Employeesand optionallyDivision. It overrides therosterblock company by company. - Put the file on Netlify. It's one self-contained HTML file with no server, no
database and no build step. Rename it
index.html, put it in a folder on its own, and drag that folder onto app.netlify.com/drop. That's the deploy — you get a URL immediately. To update it later, drag the folder again.
Then point a subdomain at it (Site settings › Domain management) so the address is yours rather than Netlify's, and link to it from the Webflow site. The video board should be a plain link, not an embed — full screen, no site chrome.
What it expects to find
Columns are detected by their headers, so it works with the current 2026 sheet as-is and with the simpler layout we'd recommend for next year.

A note on the employee count
The denominator is capped at 1,000. A company that declares 7,500 employees is scored against 1,000, so 200 walkers reads as 20%, not 2.7%. Without the cap the biggest employer in a division can never win a turnout event however many people it brings, and after one season it stops trying. The cap does not help a company that brings nobody — six walkers is still last. Change it at
TURNOUT_CAP near the top of the scoring section, or set it to Infinity to score on raw headcount.The division bands have to match that number. The bands in each city's config sort companies by the same figure the turnout percentage divides by — the declared headcount, uncapped. If you switch the Employees column from registered participants to total headcount, revisit the bands at the same time — otherwise a company sorts into the wrong division.
Keeping participant names private
The fix is to publish a second tab that never contains full names, and point this board at that tab instead of the raw responses.
- Add a tab called Public to the responses spreadsheet.
- Put these headers in row 1:
Timestamp,Company,Name,Event,Result. - Fill each column with a formula pointing at the responses tab. Everything passes through untouched except the name, which becomes initials:

Never publish the responses tab itself.
On event day
- The board re-reads the sheet every 30 seconds. Nobody has to refresh anything.
- If the connection drops, the last good standings stay on screen and the status line above turns into a warning. The board never goes blank and never shows a half-loaded sheet.
- Editing a row in the sheet corrects the board on the next read. Deleting a bad row removes it. There is nothing else to keep in sync.
- Google Forms is doing the hard part — many people submitting at once, from any phone, with no login.
